This year's oil and gas/pipeline technical session will highlight geoscientific studies related to petroleum exploration and pipeline planning in the Mackenzie Corridor and Delta. In addition, research in the Beaufort Sea and Yukon's Whitehorse Trough will be presented. A summary of NWT exploration activity over the last year will be provided, along with presentations on both onshore and offshore industry exploration programs.

The Mineral Exploration and Mapping session is a blend of exploration, regional mapping, and research presentations in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. This theme-oriented brew will highlight current trends in the mineral industry and identify priority areas in the north for future exploration.

Uranium Exploration is undergoing a resurgence in northern Canada. This session will highlight recent exploration projects in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, as well as outlining new Federal Government initiatives to increase our knowledge of Canada's uranium potential.

The Digital Data in the Geosciences session focuses on new developments in the application, conversion and entry of data for use in both the field and the office. The post-Coffee presentations address the recent interest in Remote Predictive Mapping and handheld Field Data Collection by both industry and government. It will prove to be a fascinating and edifying morning.

This session outlines Regulations, Guidelines, Amendments, Assurances, Requirements and the Review Process: Everything you need to know to operate in the mining industry. There is a general overview and some significant examples of how it all comes together in the implementation of current programs. It’s a great opportunity to learn the details and ask questions.

Unconformity-Associated Uranium Deposits in Canada: a General Discussion - Steve Goff   (Talk Schedule)

Using both a general and a focussed talk as a springboard, this seminar will attempt to promote the exchange of ideas regarding various aspects of unconformity-associated uranium deposits in Canada, notably the geological setting, basin development, empirical associations, diagenesis, hydrothermal alteration, exploration technology and resource evaluation.
