Description:
This document compiles critical mineral showings information for the Northwest Territories, Canada.
Additional information on data and data limitations are described in the section Critical Mineral
Compilation Caveats. Readers are encouraged to consult this section prior to using the information
contained herein.
A primary goal of this compilation is to supplement critical mineral showings data with current land use
and land restrictions associated with these showings. The data provided on pages 4 to 29 are available
as an attached Excel worksheet and as a downloadable file. Readers are encouraged to use the Excel
table to sort or highlight information according to user preference.
The definition of critical mineral used here is that of the Canadian government1. For the most part,
critical minerals and commodities are noted in the table by chemical element symbol. However, some
abbreviations reference a mineral species or rock type.
The information contained herein was obtained from various data sources mainly during December
2022. The information therefore represents a ‘snapshot in time’ and cannot be fully relied upon as
current. In addition, information for some older mineral showings may not have been updated with
more recent information.
