Daring Lake Tundra Science Camp
(Geology Project Leader: Diane Baldwin)

T
he Daring Lake Tundra Science Camp is a 10-day multi-disciplinary science camp for NWT students from grades 10-12. It is organized and funded predominantly through the Government of the Northwest Territories, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (ENR), with in-kind support through a number of organizations including NTGO. By studying a wide variety of topics including geology, archaeology, plants, birds, caribou, grizzly bears, and traditional knowledge , the students learn how these subjects interrelate in a tundra environment. Each student completes a collection project of their choice (rocks, plants, etc.) and an individual science project of their choice with the assistance of science mentors.
