NTGS Celebrates - International Day of Women and Girls in Science

In December of 2015 the United Nations proclaimed February 11th of each year the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Organisations such as Women in Mining NWT recognise that women and girls play a critical role in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

“There is a mantra in the STEM program that says: You can’t be what you can’t see. You can’t expect young girls to envision themselves working in male-dominated fields if they don’t have the example and mentors to look up to, to emulate and follow"  —  Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) Minister Katrina Nokleby
